Constable Jones’ Community Update |
||||||||||
|
I hope this reaches you all well.
Last week I attended a school to have a chat with the young ones, explaining who the police are, how we can help and how to contact us. We spoke about being safe and being bright and seen when out playing. They loved trying on the uniform and seeing the police car. It was lovely to meet these children and they had such great questions and stories to tell. I do have lots of respect for teachers keeping the class’s engaged every day.
As I mentioned in my last message I attended Birchen Coppice School surgery on 25/03. Lots of great groups attended and I got to make some great links. these will hopefully benefit how I work with the community withing the Safer Neighbourhood Team and also their engagement with the community. Lots of family’s came in and it was nice to see some regular faces who come and chat at our surgeries. I tried to talk to the people that came up but it was very busy at times so I do hope you got to go away with a sticker, pencil and some colouring. If not please let me know.
On the 26/03 the joint Safer Neighbourhood Team took part in another “Jog On” event. This has been shared on Social media already but we had BBC Breakfast News attend who were very interested in the work we were doing around the safety of female runners. If you have any questions about this operation please let me know and I am happy to talk. Also if you or someone (some group) you know would like to come along to a Jog On event get in touch.
(I am in the running photo but you have to look for the small person in the distance. I would love to say I am so far ahead because I am so fast…😊)
Other than these engagements I have been helping Droitwich Officers with some arrests, they had planned three simultaneous arrest to get the whole group at the same time. This worked great and all three were arrested. Well done to Droitwich SNT for the difficult planning. Us at Oldington, Foley and Sutton Park, Kidderminster and Stourport SNT are happy to help.
I have done a few support visits to people in our community, offering support and referrals when needed around mental health and bullying. Remember you don’t have to suffer alone, support is out there for children, adults and parents. If you want more information about support speak to your GP or message me and I may be able to provide some numbers.
I have also been made aware of some issues in a Park on our patch. West Mercia Police doesn't accept Anti Social Behaviour or Hate Crime. Make sure if your children are going to park they are respectful to everyone. Anyone picking on people are the park and singling anyone out will be getting a visit from police we don’t tolerate abuse for who you are.
The time has come again at the end of my working set to have some time off. I will be back in again to see you all on THURSDAY 2nd APRIL 2026. This next set will be a bit broken with the Bank Holidays and some annual leave but I will be around and able to see messages, please don’t think I’m ignoring you if there is a delay.
The team will be at some event coming up (Unfortunately due to commitments, I may not be there but someone from the team will):
Wednesday 1st April 2026 we will have a table or a space at the Foley grange Easter breakfast. Time: 9am to 12am. (Foley Grange. Silverwoods Way, Kidderminster, Dy11 7DT)
Any families of birchen Coppice School we will be there at the Family Hub Launch. Time: 2pm to 3pm
I will leave you, as always, with some facts for the day:
For the Music fans out there: Today is officially World Piano Day!
On this day in 1848, Niagara Falls stopped flowing for around 30–40 hours because of a massive ice jam upstream.
